Privacy notice
Shade collects only what it needs to arrange tastings, hold reservations and tell you when products open. It follows Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
What we collect
- From café forms: your name, café name and area, WhatsApp number, email if you give it, the lots and monthly kilos you're interested in, when you'd like to start, how many matcha drinks you serve a day if you say, and anything you choose to tell us about your current supply.
- From the at-home list: your email, first name if you give it, and the products and frequency you pick.
- With every form: the page you used, the prices shown to you, when you sent it, and a note of how you first found us: the website that sent you, if any, any campaign tags in that link, the page you landed on and when you first visited. We use this only to see which posts and messages bring cafés to Shade.
What we use it for
To reply to you, arrange a tasting, record your reservation and founding price, and email you when Shade at home opens. We don't sell or rent your details, and we don't add you to anything you didn't ask for.
Who else handles it
Form submissions are sent to Formspree, a form service that stores them on our behalf on servers in the United States. Our email provider holds any emails you send us. If you hold your kilos with a deposit, our payment provider handles the payment; we never see your card details.
How long we keep it
Reservation details for as long as you're a customer, plus any period the law requires. Waitlist emails until the product opens, or until you ask us to remove them.
Analytics and your device
We count visits with Plausible, which sets no cookies and doesn't identify you.
We don't use cookies. Your browser keeps that first-visit note (the website that sent you, any campaign tags, the page you landed on and when) so we know which post or message brought you. It stays until you clear this site's data. On the Shade at home page it also keeps a note of which version of our prices you were shown, for 90 days, so you see the same prices each time you visit. You can clear both by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold, or withdraw your consent, at any time, by emailing us. We'll act within 30 days.
Who we are
Shade is run in Singapore by JB Tan, who is responsible for the personal data collected on this site. A Singapore company is being registered to run Shade; when it is, your details pass to it and this page will name it and its UEN. Contact: us.
